Barbeara's Art Deco Hat by Carolyn Schmitz

Barbeara demands a hat with a modern flair. This is a challenge for the hat makers: a chipmunk, a Wilson’s Warbler and a Northern Flicker. The birds select perfect oak and walnut leaves, and orange silene flowers. The chipmunk gathers grape vine tendrils, an acorn, and pine cone petals and needles–the curly ones are rare mutations. The three artisans work together to create this meticulously crafted headpiece, a bold arrangement of geometric forms that is elegant and very Art Deco!
